A dinky toy was under lock and key yesterday after being sold for a world record £19,975.

The red and green delivery van is emblazoned with the name W E Boyce - a cycle shop in Highgate, North London.

It cost less than two shillings when first produced in the 30s.

The van, believed to be the only surviving example, was bought by a French bidder at Vectis auctioneers on Teesside.
