Duke’s auctioneers in Dorchester have sold a rare Pablo Picasso painting that depicts Picasso and his lover Odette in an intimate naked clinch and is titled Etreinte (Embrace).

The painting was sold at Duke’s auctioneers in Dorchester, Dorset along with two rare finds by British painters that were found along with it. A Grey Horse by George Stubbs sold for £53,775 and The Irish Grey Mare by Alfred Munnings sold for £65,725.

Guy Schwinge from Duke’s stated, “It was a breathtaking find to discover these paintings that were stacked against the wall of a house. To find just one of these works would have been incredible - but to find three was quite exceptional.”
