Harry Potter Prequel for Charity Auction

Published May 29th, 2008

JK Rowling has penned a prequel to the bestselling Harry Potter series describing what happened to Harry before he went to Hogwarts.

The story, which is shrouded in secrecy, was written in the past month and is just 800 words long.

The Harry Potter prequel comes almost a year after the last book in the boy-wizard series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, hit the shelves.

The new piece is one of 13 story outlines written by famous writers for a charity auction to be held by Waterstones on June 10.

The money raised by the What’s Your Story event will go to charities English Pen and Dyslexia Action.
